A Brief Description

Wikitowns use the metaphor of a town to group together websites that are selected as being the best examples of knowledge in a particular subject area.

Together, the websites present a comprehensive source of education and information, which is improved and updated at regular intervals.

All the chosen viewing links take you to specific pages relating to the town's theme or subject, but this can often lead to the discovery of interesting websites that you hadn't realised existed before.

Websites cannot pay to be included in these towns. Websites are chosen solely on merit, selected for their expertise in providing resources, information or tutorials.

These towns are not substitutes for search engines. They are supplementary to them.

If you know what what you want to find, or know what you don't know, you can use a regular search engine.

Sometimes, you don't know what you don't know or are completely unaware of some important areas of knowledge - this is often where a solution lies.

Wikitowns takes you to places where you can find the answers to both the known unknowns and the unknown unknowns: places of learning and knowledge discovery.
